Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors . . .
In July, 2010 the members of Whiston Methodist Church were in a state of shock when their building was deemed not to be fit for worship and must be closed with immediate effect.
From that time onwards the Whiston Church members worshiped at Prescot.
Prescot had been planning refurbishment of their premises but this was put on hold until decisions were made about the future of both Churches.
In 2011, both Prescot and Whiston voted to close each of their Churches and become the Methodist Church for Prescot and Whiston.
Both Church councils were dissolved and a new one created.
Worship continued on the Prescot site while decisions were made about the future of the newly formed Church.
Eventually it was agreed to remain on the Prescot site and refurbish the premises for Church and Community Use.
The work is nearing completion and the building will be officially opened early in 2020
