The Methodist Church for Prescot & Whiston

Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors . . .

We were given a wonderful, warm welcome by the head and staff of the dementia ward.  Morning tea was laid on during which we had the opportunity to discuss what they would like us to do and we gave them three twiddle muffs.  This was followed by a guided tour of the unit and we visited a patient who had been given one of our rainbow coloured blankets which was spread out on her bed.  It had been arranged for a photo to be taken of us all, plus the lovely blanket.

After lunch we were introduced at the neo-natal and children's wards when we gave two children's blankets to the ward manager.  During the guided tour we saw tiny babies covered by colourful, knitted and crocheted blankets, in tiny cots.  Talking to staff we learnt of other knits which would be welcomed.

Staff were so appreciative of our gifts and welcomed more visit of Knit and Natter friends. It was truly a most enjoyable and informative visit.
